Position Summary
We are seeking a pediatrician with acute care and emergency skills as well as an interest in international health. This physician would provide clinical services in our new non-profit children’s hospital in the beautiful town of Luang Prabang, Laos.
We have opened out-patient and in-patient departments, with plans to open the 24/7 emergency department in November 2015. The physician would work with the Laotian and international team, with the main responsibilities being clinical supervision and teaching recent Lao graduates. The position requires a minimum of one year commitment.
This is a unique opportunity for those looking to gain international public health & clinical experience in a developing/lesser-developed country setting. Luang Prabang is a quiet and charming tourist-friendly town along the banks of the Mekong River. There are plenty of opportunities for weekend sightseeing trips in the surrounding area.

Qualifications/requirements
• Current license to practice in home country
• Committed to providing compassionate care to patients and families.
• Ability to interact with people from various countries and backgrounds with tact and diplomacy
• Teaching and mentoring experience
• Previous experience practicing medicine in a low resource country preferred
